At some time we might need someone else to manage our affairs. This is achieved through Powers of Attorney. But if we're unable to make that choice, the court decides.

 

This is:

• Very expensive

• Slow (Urgent decisions! Access to funds!)

• No guarantee the court will appoint whoever we would have chosen

• Someone else – even a solicitor we don't know – could be appointed
